Jorge Sierra is Director of the Hematology Division and Hematopoietic Transplantation Program at the Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau in Barcelona.
Professor Sierra achieved his medical degree in 1979, then proceeded to complete his PhD degree in at the University of Barcelona in 1983. In 2006, he became a Professor of Medicine, Hematology. His main research interests are the clinical impact of molecular alterations in Acute Myeloid Leukemia and the novel modalities of hematopoietic transplantation.
Professor Sierra is the previous Vice-dean of the Faculty of Medicine of the Autonomous University of Barcelona, Member of the Board of the José Carreras International Leukemia Foundation, Chairman of the Spanish CETLAM group for the study of AML, Past-Member of the Executive Board of the European Haematology Association and the President of the Spanish Society of Hematology.
